Other Historical Speeches
Chicago Speeches - Swami Vivekananda
The first recording in this series is the speech made by Swami
Vivekananda at the World Parliament of Religions in Chicago on 11th September 1893. This is one of the most memorable speeches made in the modern era and is definitely a collector's
item. The speech was so profound, that the day after his speech one of the American newspapers quoted:
"He is undoubtedly the greatest figure in the Parliament of Religions. After hearing him, we feel how foolish it is to send missionaries to this learned nation"
